Este trabalho é parte de uma pesquisa de Doutorado realizada junto ao
programa de Pós-Graduação da UFPR (Curitiba). Suas fontes principais
de pesquisa são os códigos de leis, tais como os concílios de Toledo e a
Lex Visigothorum. A intenção é demonstrar o confronto entre a
monarquia visigótica, instigada pela Igreja, e os judeus radicados no
reino hispano-visigodo. O móvel desse conflito é o proselitismo judaico,
direcionado aos escravos e dependentes cristãos. O tema é desenvolvido
desde o Baixo Império, mas a ênfase é dada ao século VII a. C.
Abstract
This article is part of a Ph.D. research at the Federal University of
Paraná (UFPR). Its main sources are the Laws Code, as the Toledo
Councils and the Lex Visigothorum. The intention is to give evidence
of the confrontation between the visigothic monarchy, induced by the
Church, and the Jews living in the Spanish Visigothic Kingdom. The
object of this confrontation is the Jewish proselytism through the
Christian slaves and dependents. The subject is approached from the
Latter Roman Empire but the emphasis is the 7th century in the
Visigothic Spain.
