The present work aims at counter posing the current form of analyzing the tourism phenomenon in a post-modern context, in other words, it is an attempt to understand tourism facts by keeping away from considerations which are merely commercial and simulative, and having a more human and helpful approach in examining the system in we find ourselves and go beyond the appearance to reach the essence.||O presente trabalho procura em oposição à forma de analisar o fenômeno turístico no contexto pós-moderno, ou seja, ele busca uma maneira diferente de entender os acontecimentos turísticos, afastando-se da consideração meramente comercial e simulatória e indo ao encontro de uma forma mais humana e proveitosa de examinar o sistema no qual nos encontramos, ou seja, transpor as barreiras da aparência e chocar-se com a essência.
