The present article discusses about the importance of the letter as a source of analysis for the historian and as register of the writing of itself. Through the answered letters written by the intellectual Luís Mendes Ribeiro Golçalves to his friend A. Tito Filho, I trace an affective and intellectual sociability route between both. Emphasizing that the epistolary dialogue between the two intellectuals brings out a literary and cultural scenario of Teresina from 1970 to 1980. It’s possible to concluded that the letters are used to signify a flow and circulation of ideas on a network characterized by the affection and intellectuality and build spaces of images’ creation, since there are a confidential theatre, where the correspondents use the word to mark their places, tell their preferences, show their concerns, dreams and wishes.||O presente artigo aborda sobre a importância da carta como fonte de análise para o historiador e como registro da escrita de si. Através das cartas-retorno escritas pelo intelectual Luís Mendes Ribeiro Gonçalves ao seu amigo A. Tito Filho, traço um percurso afetivo e de sociabilidade intelectual entre ambos. Enfatizo que o diálogo epistolar entre os dois intelectuais fazem emergir um cenário literário e cultural de Teresina entre os anos de 1970-1980. Concluo que as cartas servem para significar um fluxo e circulação de ideias em uma rede marcada pela afetividade e pela intelectualidade, bem como, constroem espaços de construções da imagem, já que existe um teatro confidencial, onde os missivistas utilizam-se da palavra para marcar seus lugares, dizer suas preferências, mostrar suas inquietações, sonhos e desejos.
