João Cabral's writing was crystallized in the image of the stone, a symbol related to the calculated and rationalist posture that the poet cultivated. In this paper, beside the mineral, we intend to investigate the vegetal presence in Cabral's verses from two vectors: i) a bioinspired reading in the concept of tropism; ii) the analysis of the figurativization of plants. Against the hegemonic vision in the West, under the botanical lens, the Brazilian poet recognizes an active dimension to the vegetal living. ||A escrita de João Cabral foi cristalizada na imagem da pedra, símbolo afim à postura calculada e racionalista que o poeta cultivou. Neste estudo, ao lado do mineral, tenciona-se investigar a presença vegetal nos versos cabralinos a partir de dois vetores: i) uma leitura bioinspirada no conceito de tropismo; ii) a análise da figurativização das plantas. De encontro à da visão hegemônica no Ocidente, sob a lente botânica, o poeta brasileiro reconhece uma dimensão ativa aos viventes vegetais.
