RESUMO
Este artigo tem o objetivo de examinar como se deu a implantação do Bairro Jardim Lindóia, situado na zona Norte de Porto Alegre/RS, desde o seu surgimento no início da década de 1950 até em torno de 1975. Baseado em pesquisa para realização do Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso de Museologia na Faculdade de Biblioteconomia e Comunicação da Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, em 2019. Analisa como era a região no passado recente, sua transformação, as mudanças ocorridas e que continuam ocorrendo no bairro com a substituição de suas antigas moradias pelos edifícios e casas comerciais e qual o impacto desta verticalização para seus moradores. Ressalta que apesar de muitas mudanças terem ocorrido na tipologia e nos hábitos do bairro e vários daqueles primeiros moradores já terem se afastado do convívio dos vizinhos antigos, ainda levam na memória a lembrança dos anos iniciais do ambiente e sua convivência no lugar. Conclui que os bairros tendem a se transformar na medida em que crescem e os hábitos e as relações de vizinhança a se alterar se não houver fortalecimento daquele vínculo afetivo e de pertencimento entre seus habitantes com o lugar.

ABSTRACT
This paper aims to investigate how the neighborhood Jardim Lindóia located in the northern area of Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, was implanted from its inception in the early 1950’s until around 1975. Based on research to complete the Museology Course Conclusion Work at the Faculdade de Biblioteconomia e Comunicação at the Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, in 2019. It also analyzes how was the region in the recent past, its transformation, the changes that have taken place and continue to occur in the neighborhood with the replacement of its former homes by buildings and commercial houses and what impact this vertical integration has on its older residents. Although many changes have occurred in the typology and habits of the neighborhood and several of those early residents have already moved away, they still remember the memory of early years of the environment and their living in the place. It concludes that the neighborhoods tend to change as they grow and neighborhood habits and relationship change if there is no strengthening of that affective and belonging bond between its inhabitants and the place.
