The earlier 19th century in Brazil is marked by a great process of structural rupture, the breaking of the old colonial system, which materialize itself specially after transfer of Portuguese court, in 1808. The social, economic and political changes experienced at the time had in the writings, printed and manuscripts, an important tool of dissemination of ideas, news, political cultures, as well as in a rearrangement of social behaviors through new forms of sociability and that permeated the changes that occurred between the private and public spheres of that society. All of this under the watching of the crown over the censorship, an instrument that faced the practical and logistical difficulties of its time. ||O início do século XIX no Brasil é marcado por um processo de grande ruptura estrutural, a quebra do antigo sistema colonial, que se materializa especialmente após a trasladação da corte portuguesa, em 1808. As alterações sociais, econômicas e políticas vivenciadas à época tiveram nos escritos, impressos e manuscritos, uma importante ferramenta na disseminação de ideias, notícias, culturas políticas, bem como num rearranjo de comportamentos sociais por meio de novas formas de sociabilidades e que perpassavam as alterações que ocorriam entre os âmbitos privado e público daquela sociedade. Tudo isso sob a vigilância da coroa através da censura, um instrumento que enfrentava as dificuldades práticas e logísticas de seu tempo.
