Neste artigo tento elucidar algumas das questões que emergiram da experiência de visitar a exposição coletiva Queermuseu em Porto Alegre no final de 2017, três dias antes de seu fechamento com quase um mês de antecedência, situação que solicita a reflexão sobre a arte contemporânea, revendo questões já abordadas por Arthur Danto e Douglas Crimp, tais como, o display museológico; as implicações para um público de uma arte reproduzida na internet, a presença do observador e da obra; e o desconhecimento sobre os procedimentos artísticas da arte contemporânea, como a apropriação, a reutilização e a pós-produção de imagens captadas pelo artista. Também discutirei outras exposições que abordaram temáticas queer: Queer British Art, Londres e Hide/Seek: Difference and Desire in American Portraiture, que também passou pela censura nos EUA em 2010. Seeing (or not?) other narratives and contexts of symbolic expression: from Queermuseu to the ruins of the museumAbstract: In this article I try to elucidate some of the issues that emerged from the experience of visiting the Queermuseu exhibition in Porto Alegre at the end of 2017, three days before its closure almost a month in advance, a situation that calls for reflection on contemporary art, and review issues already addressed by Arthur Danto and Douglas Crimp, such as the museological display; the issues of the public and it’s reception of art reproduced on the internet, the presence of the observer and the work of art, the lack of knowledge about the procedures of contemporary art, such as appropriation, reuse and post-production of images captured by the artist. We also discuss exhibitions that dealt with similar themes: Queer British Art, London and Hide / Seek: Difference and Desire in American Portraiture which also was censored in the USA in 2010.
