A proposta desse texto é discutir a postura do pesquisador/fotógrafo na pesquisa de campo em terreiros urbanos. O ponto de partida será o termo de consentimento livre e esclarecido, que deve constar para a autorização de uso de imagem. Sendo assim, o foco do trabalho é a fotografia. Após este aspecto, será discutido se é possível fotografar o “segredo” e quais os motivos que levam à proibição de tal atitude. Como base empírica de reflexão: o Projeto Imaginário dos Orixás em Pernambuco, do Núcleo do Imaginário do Programa de Pós-Graduação em Antropologia da UFPE, que foi realizado nos anos de 2006 e 2007 e com a Casa Ilé Iyemonjá Ògúnté de tradição Nagô. A partir da experiência de campo será feita uma revisão bibliográfica capaz de ajudar na compreensão das atitudes tomadas por parte dos integrantes do candomblé sobre a permissão para fotografar. Palavras chave: Fotografia. Segredo. Ética. Photography and the Secret Abstract The purpose of this paper is to discuss the position of the researcher/photographer in field research in urban yards. The starting point is the term of consent, which must be present for the authorization of use of image. Thus, the focus of this work is photography. After this, it will be discussed whether it is possible to shoot the "secret" and the reasons that lead to the prohibition of such behavior. As empirical basis of reflection: Project Imaginary of the Orishas in Pernambuco, the core of Imaginary Graduate Program in Anthropology UFPE, which was conducted in the years 2006 and 2007 and with the House Ilé Iyemonjá Ogunté tradition of Nago.
