This article, originally designed for the course "Socio-professional knowledge in legal contexts" in 2021 by the Sign Language Translators and Interpreters in Legal and Police Contexts Extension Program (TILSJUR), at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), addresses the procedure to expand the sociocultural repertoire of students in the subject "Translation and Interpretation in Legal Contexts", of the undergraduate course in Bachelor's Degree in Translation and Interpretation of Libras/Portuguese (Letras-Libras), at the Federal University of Espírito Santo (Ufes). The script includes: knowing the target audience; the word as an ideological creation; symbols and archetypes; myths, history and heritage; and legal spaces. As a basis we use Freire (2019; 2020), Bakhtin (2010) and Jung (1964). In the final considerations, we highlight the importance of translators and interpreters mastering this sociocultural repertoire of the legal/forensic area, not only for their professional and civic activities, but also to better enlighten the deaf community on specific terms. Ultimately, understanding these cultural elements promotes a more ethical and efficient practice in linguistic accessibility services, enables professionals to make better translation and interpretative choices, broadens the vision in specific situations and implicit values, and reveals historical nuances in the present and future trends.||Este artigo, originalmente pensado para o curso "Saberes socioprofissionais em contextos jurídicos" em 2021 pelo Programa de Extensão Tradutores e Intérpretes de Línguas de Sinais em Contextos Jurídico e Policial (TILSJUR), da Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC), aborda o procedimento para ampliar o repertório sociocultural de estudantes na disciplina "Tradução e Interpretação em Contextos Jurídicos", do curso de graduação em Bacharelado em Tradução e Interpretação de Libras/Português (Letras-Libras), da Universidade Federal do Espírito Santo (Ufes). O roteiro inclui: conhecer o público-alvo; a palavra como criação ideológica; símbolos e arquétipos; mitos, história e herança; e espaços jurídicos. Como base usamos Freire (2019; 2020), Bakhtin (2010) e Jung (1964). Nas considerações finais, destacamos a importância dos tradutores e intérpretes dominarem esse repertório sociocultural da área jurídica/forense, não apenas para sua atuação profissional e cidadã, mas também para melhor elucidar a comunidade surda sobre termos específicos. Em última análise, compreender esses elementos culturais promove uma prática mais ética e eficiente nos serviços linguísticos de acessibilidade, capacita o profissional a fazer escolhas tradutórias e interpretativas mais acertadas, amplia a visão em situações específicas e para valores implícitos, e revela nuances históricas no presente e tendências futuras.
