We present the artisanal photo shoot, created through an ethnography with children, conducted at the Community Primary School, located within the Sanitary Landfill, emically represented as Dump, in the Northern Coast of Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil. Our objective is to understand how children, based on their photographic productions, interpret and communicate the context in which they are immersed. The peculiarities resonated from the artisanal sewing captured in the plurality of the children’s gazes and lenses in dialogue with the singularities of the context – the school and the dump, in an inseparable way – revealing subjectivities of the interlocutors among communities: students (children) and workers at the Municipal Sanitary Landfill. Based on the portrayed experience, we engage with Garcés’s (2022) provocation and show that children produce images that denote curiosity, creativity, imagination, sensitivity and investigation. Their photographs offer an open-minded view of the world, creating new and different meanings.||Apresentamos o ensaio fotográfico artesanal, constituído a partir de uma etnografia com crianças, realizada na Escola Comunitária de Educação Infantil, localizada dentro do Aterro Sanitário Municipal, representado emicamente como Lixão, no Litoral Norte Gaúcho, Brasil. Como objetivo, buscamos compreender como as crianças, a partir de suas produções fotográficas, leem e comunicam o contexto em que estão inseridas. Os estranhamentos reverberaram da costura artesanal apreendidas na pluralidade dos olhares e lentes das crianças em diálogo com as singularidades do contexto – da escola e do lixão, de modo indissociável – revelando subjetividades dos interlocutores entre comunidades: estudantil (crianças) e de trabalhadores(as) do Aterro Sanitário Municipal. A partir da experiência retratada, dialogamos com a provocação de Garcés (2022) e demonstramos que as crianças produzem imagens que denotam curiosidade, criatividade, imaginação, sensibilidade e investigação. Suas fotografias apresentam uma leitura de mundo aberta à novidade, em que criam novos e diferentes sentidos.
