This article aims to study the hermeneutic dimension in Nietzsche's writings. Firstly, it is necessary to know the reasons why the thinker applies the hermeneutic method; subsequently, know how this practice is carried out. Nihilism and modernity answer the previous questions. In Nietzsche's philosophy there is an eclipse of the concept of truth in its metaphysical dimension; this leads thinking to understand the linguistic dimension as producing an effect of truth. The consequence of this stance towards knowledge aims at an interpretative practice that does not resemble the modern scientific method, but rather an attitude in which representation acquires relevance, as it is the result of concrete social forces. Thus, even though he was opposed to modernity, Nietzsche can be considered one of the founders of the so-called postmodern current that emphasizes priority in language studies.||Este artigo objetiva o estudo da dimensão hermenêutica nos escritos de Nietzsche. Em primeiro lugar, requer-se o conhecer dos motivos do pensador aplicar o método hermenêutico; posteriormente, saber a forma como se exerce esta prática. Niilismo e modernidade respondem às questões anteriores. Na filosofia de Nietzsche há um eclipse do conceito de verdade em sua dimensão metafísica; isto conduz o pensamento a entender a dimensão linguística como produtora de um efeito de verdade. A consequência desta postura diante do conhecimento almeja a uma prática interpretativa que não se assemelha ao método científico moderno, mas a uma atitude na qual a representação adquire relevância, pois ela é fruto de forças sociais concretas. Dessa forma, mesmo se opondo à modernidade, Nietzsche pode ser considerado um dos fundadores da denominada corrente pós-moderna que enfatiza a prioridade nos estudos de linguagem.
