In the 1920's and 1930's Vicente Licínio Cardoso, Otávio de Faria, Lúcia Miguel Pereira, Gilberto Freyre and Everardo Backheuser have established parallels between Russia and Brazil. Taking as a frame of reference the theme of "disorder" in contemporary world, which was closely connected with the Bolshevik threat, these intellectuals have examined in detail the social and cultural conditions of each country. The political outcome of the parallel was discarded, but, on the other hand, the rise of Russian literature (taken as a great moral depository) was offered as a positive result of the Russo-Brazilian similitude.||Nas décadas de 1920 e 1930, Vicente Licínio Cardoso, Otávio de Faria, Lúcia Miguel Pereira, Gilberto Freyre e Everardo Backheuser criaram paralelos entre a Rússia e o Brasil. Tendo como pano de fundo o tema da "desordem" do mundo contemporâneo, estreitamente ligada à ameaça bolchevique, examinaram em detalhe as condições socioculturais de cada país. Repudiando os possíveis resultados políticos do paralelo, ofereceram, em contrapartida, a ascensão da literatura russa (apresentada na forma de um grande reservatório moral) como resultado desejável das similitudes russo-brasileiras.
