This work proposes a critical-analytical reading of the poem “Silêncio guerreiro”, by Márcia Wayna Kambeba. The analysis that will be undertaken aims to understand active silence as a behaviour of resistance and strength. In this work, it is also discussed the importance of contemporary indigenous poetry and the ways in which a people can re-exist and value their ancestry. Methodologically, it is a qualitative, bibliographic and interpretive work. As a theoretical foundation, we used the following authors: Almeida (2008), Corbin (2021), Grün (2012), Kambeba (2018a, 2018b, 2020, 2023), Munduruku (2008, 2016), Orlandi (1990, 2007, 2020), Pollak (1989), Santos (2009), Schneider (2018) and Spivak (2010), Tfouni (2008), and Testa and Albuquerque (2021). Some results indicate that active silence does not mean becoming silent or not stop speaking, listening and giving meaning to a context of consciousness, struggle and reexistence and, moreover, that ancestral silence is intentional, it is active.||Este texto propõe uma leitura crítico-analítica do poema “Silêncio guerreiro”, de Márcia Wayna Kambeba. A análise que se empreende busca compreender o silêncio ativo como uma manifestação de resistência e de força. Discute-se ainda a importância da poesia indígena contemporânea, as formas de reexistência de um povo e a valorização de sua ancestralidade. Metodologicamente, é um trabalho qualitativo, bibliográfico e interpretativista. Como fundamentação teórica, foram utilizados os seguintes autores: Almeida (2008), Corbin (2021), Grün (2012), Kambeba (2018a, 2018b, 2020, 2023), Munduruku (2008, 2016), Orlandi (1990, 2007, 2020), Pollak (1989), Santos (2009), Schneider (2018), Spivak (2010), Tfouni (2008) e Testa e Albuquerque (2021). Os resultados apontam que o silêncio ativo não consiste em emudecer, em deixar de falar, mas em escutar e dar sentido a um contexto de consciência, de luta e de reexistência; mais do que isso, eles apontam que o silêncio ancestral é intencional, é ativo.
