Abstract: It is proposed in this paper to articulate the strong relationship between african-Brazilian Literature and Theatre. It is true that the mythology of the Orishas
is staged and dramatized in African religions like Candomblé and Umbanda, but little has been seen to african-Brazilian Literature as a way of thinking and religiously theatrically dramatized in daily life and in the imagination of the people of the saint.
Keywords: Performance. Theatre. Culture. African literature.||Resumo: estuda-se, aqui, a relação existente entre a literatura afro-brasileira e o teatro. A mitologia dos Orixás encenada e dramatizada nas religiões africanas, como Candomblé e Umbanda, como forma de pensamento teatralmente e religiosamente dramatizada no cotidiano e no imaginário do Povo do santo.
