Historiography has dedicated itself to studying, in depth, resistance and engagement against the civil-military dictatorship, howerever, in the last few years it has evidenced an increase in researches dedicated to understanding the multiple relationships between the civil society and the regime, mainly those where it has been witnessed consensus and ambivalence in their actions. Therefore, the present article aims to overcome the dichotomy between resistance and repression in the cultural field bringing in a dialogue that reflects upon engagement, censorship and consensus and consent, addressing, in this way, the different relationships that developed in the period. This study proposes to produce a brief historiographical balance surrounding the engaged art and the resistance in the cultural field, the censorship applied to cultural products and, finally, the aspects that involved consensus in the cultural sphere. ||A historiografia tem se dedicado a estudar, em grande profundidade, a resistência e o engajamento contra a ditadura civil-militar, porém, nos últimos anos se evidenciou um aumento de pesquisas que se dedicam a compreender as múltiplas relações entre a sociedade civil e o regime, principalmente aquelas onde se presenciou o consenso e a ambivalência em suas ações. Sendo assim, o presente artigo busca superar a dicotomia entre resistência e repressão no âmbito cultural trazendo um diálogo que reflita o engajamento, a censura e os consensos e consentimentos, abordando, desta forma, as diversas relações que se desenvolveram no período. Este estudo propõe realizar um breve balanço historiográfico em torno da arte engajada e da resistência no campo cultural, da censura aplicada sobre os produtos culturais e, por fim, dos aspectos que envolvem os consensos no âmbito da cultura.
