The creative and critical appropriation of the urban territory of art considers the population that lives in substandard conditions of habitability, tenements and occupations of empty buildings of the his- toric centre, on the one hand, and the slums, on the other. This action shows a new impetus to the notion of public procedure and the possibility of emergence of new potential forms of local demo-cracies. This is the context in which one wants to ask the equation society- citizenship in the town in São Paulo and remark the intricate relationship between ruins and virtues in the metropolis for the project of architecture and the city.||A apropriação criativa e critica do território urbano pela arte considera uma população que viveem condições precárias de habitabilidade, cortiços e ocupações dos edifícios vazios do centrohistórico, por um lado, favelas, por outro. Estaação mostra um novo impulso à noção de açãopolítica e à possibilidade de surgimento de novas formas potenciais de democracias locais. Esteo contexto em que se quer indagar a equação sociedade-cidadania em São Paulo e tecer considerações sobre a intricada relação entre ruínas e virtudes na metrópole para o Projeto da Arquitetura e da Cidade.
