Abstract: The essay explores the geobotanical imaginary of the short story “O Recado do Morro” (1956), by Guimarães Rosa, aiming to identify original meanings that underlie the geographical origin and occurrence of plants that appear in profusion in the narrative, hypothetically located in the interior of Minas Gerais. It is hypothesized that the components of space and landscape, in addition to providing the context and framing the physical surroundings in the narratives, are natural elements that acquire meaning through a robust mystical and existential reflection.
||Resumo: O ensaio explora o imaginário geobotânico do conto “O Recado do Morro” (1956), de Guimarães Rosa, objetivando identificar sentidos originários que subjazem à origem e ocorrência geográficas de plantas que surgem em profusão na narrativa, hipoteticamente situada no interior de Minas Gerais. Pressupõe-se que os componentes do espaço e paisagem, além de fornecer o contexto e emoldurar o entorno físico nas narrações, são elementos naturais que adquirem sentido mediante uma robusta reflexão mística e existencial.
