This paper aims to reflect on the racial identity of the white English teachers in Brazilian education. In view of the encounter between the concepts of identity (Silva, 2000), race and racism, whiteness and white racial identity (Diangelo, 2018; Schucman, 2014), I will discuss how these concepts are present in the representation of the English language in the social imaginary, in the teaching of the language and how the racial identity of this white teacher will weave relations with the teaching and learning process of black and white students. Based on an explanatory analysis, the article wishes to collaborate with means of reformulating a different education and to contribute to researches in the field of racial studies in language teaching.||O presente artigo objetiva trazer reflexões sobre a identidade racial de professores/as brancos/as de inglês na educação brasileira. Diante do encontro entre os conceitos de identidade (Silva, 2000), raça e racismo, branquitude e identidade racial branca (Diangelo, 2018; Schucman, 2014), discorreremos sobre como estes estarão presentes na representação da língua inglesa para o imaginário social, no ensino do idioma, e de que forma a identidade racial deste/a professor/a branco/a tecerá relações com o processo de ensino e aprendizagem de alunos/as negros/as e brancos/as. Por meio de uma análise explicativa, o artigo deseja colaborar com meios de reformulação de uma educação outra e contribuir com as pesquisas no campo dos estudos raciais no ensino de línguas.
