The present work has the objective of analyzing the illumination of Ariano Suassuna, considering the sensitive dimension of the imaginary. For this, the research presents some theoretical elements about the Armorial Movement, aspects related to the imaginary and its main theorists and, finally, using Gilbert Durand’s methodology, the understanding about the meaning of the recurrent symbols in the analyzed images is conceived, especially regarding the meanings of the images approached and their representation in the collective imaginary. Finally, this study contributes to the understanding of the symbolic dimension of the Movement, highlighting its artistic potential, highlighting the importance of the representation of Brazilian culture through the historical and cultural movements that portray its popular dimension.||O presente trabalho tem o objetivo de analisar as iluminogravuras de Ariano Suassuna, considerando a dimensão sensível do imaginário. Para tanto, a pesquisa apresenta alguns elementos teóricos acerca do Movimento Armorial, aspectos relacionados ao imaginário e seus principais teóricos e, por último, utilizando-se da metodologia de Gilbert Durand, é concebida a compreensão sobre a significação dos símbolos recorrentes nas imagens analisadas, especialmente quanto aos significados das imagens abordadas e a sua representação no imaginário coletivo. Por fim, este estudo contribui para a compreensão da dimensão simbólica do Movimento, destacando o potencial artístico que o integra, ressaltando a importância da representação da cultura brasileira através dos movimentos históricos e culturais que retratam sua dimensão popular.
