Excerpts from an interview with Artigas by FAUUSP 4th year students, given in 1984. Transcribed in February 1992 this text was donated to the collection of the University of São Paulo Faculty of Architecture and Urbanism Library, in the year that the design of its building celebrated 30 years. The informal conversation, a “chat” in the words of the renowned master, should be used only in the academic field and therefore that is how we present it in this journal, honoring the architect on the year of the centenary of his birth.||Trechos da entrevista realizada com Artigas por alunos do 4o ano da FAUUSP, em 1984, na residência do arquiteto, transcrita em fevereiro de 1992 e doada para o acervo da Biblioteca da Faculdade de Arquitetura e Urbanismo da USP, no ano em que o projeto desta mesma faculdade celebrava 30 anos. A conversa informal, um “bate-papo” nas palavras do renomado mestre, deveria ser usada apenas no âmbito acadêmico e, portanto, é dessa forma que ela é apresentada nesta revista científica, homenageando o arquiteto, no ano do centenário de seu nascimento.
