This work is part of a research line created in the Masters In Communication and Education of the Autonomous University of Barcelona. We review the points of convergence between Information and communication technology (ICT) and learning theories, generating discussion about the concept of interactivity, multimodality, from the comprehension of its importance in the design of a website. In addition, we try to give criteria that shed light on the applicability of theories treated in this paper, within a distance education system. Finally, we analyze an educational website, and we provide analysis criteria for optimization of multimedia material – an educational website.||Los retos que para la educación peruana significa considerar los aprendizajes extraescolares.
