This paper aims to discuss pedagogical practices and the evaluation process of music teaching in the Degree in Rural Education: Codes and Languages - Arts and Music at the Federal University of Tocantins, Tocantinópolis Campus, state of Tocantins, Brazil. The qualitative-interpretativist approach has as strategy the bibliographical review. The research results show that the evaluation process has different dimensions regarding Music Education from the perspective of Rural Education, demanding from the teacher a more humanized posture, capable of overcoming the boundaries established by the Eurocentrism existing in some academic music training courses.||Este artículo tiene como objetivo discutir las prácticas pedagógicas y el proceso de evaluación de la enseñanza de la música en el curso de Grado en Educación Rural: Códigos e idiomas - Artes y Música en la Universidad Federal de Tocantins (UFT), Campus de Tocantinópolis, Estado de Tocantins, Brasil. El enfoque cualitativo-interpretativo tiene una estrategia de revisión bibliográfica. Los resultados de la investigación alcanzan que el proceso de evaluación tiene diferentes dimensiones con respecto a la Educación Musical en la perspectiva de la Educación Rural, exigiendo del docente una postura más humanizada, capaz de superar las fronteras establecidas por el eurocentrismo existente en algunos cursos de formación académica en música.
