Angola, as ricas-donas, de Isabel Valadão, reapresenta o passado colonial angolano do século XIX, tendo como foco a elite crioula de Luanda, envolvida com o comércio transatlântico de escravos. Na escrita da autora, é outorgada a uma escrava a função de narradora. Este trabalho pretende dialogar sobre a representação do outro no romance a partir de uma pseudoautonomia da narradora. Ao dar voz a uma escrava em um território colonial do século XIX, a autora sugere a representação de um sujeito colonial a partir de um sujeito soberano do ocidente que não reproduza as forças de domínio e opressão colonial em sua escrita. O trabalho se fundamenta principalmente em Spivak (2000; 2010).||Angola, as ricas-donas, by Isabel Valadão, re-presents the Angolan colonial past of the 19th century, focusing on the creole elite of Luanda, involved in the transatlantic slave trade. In the author’s writing, a slave is given the role of narrator. The present work intends to dialogue about the representation of the other in the novel from a pseudo-autonomy of the narrator. By giving voice to a female slave in a colonial territory of the 19th century, the author suggests the representation of a colonial subject from a sovereign subject of the West that does not reproduce the forces of colonial domination and oppression in her writing. The work is mainly based on Spivak (2000; 2010).
