Oral Breather Syndrome is a set of signs and symptoms that may be fully or partially present in human beings replacing the normal nasal breathing patterns by a mixed (oral and nasal) or an oral ones. This process occurs due to diferent reasons. Signs and symptoms shown by these people depend on several factors and alter their life quality in a significant way. Because of the alterations that this syndorome may produce in human beigs, the treatment of the oral breather is extremely important, and the participation of physiotherapy is indispensable. In this work, we intend to refer to essential features of teh Oral Breather Syndrome aiming at providing enough information as to contribute to the process of comprehension of this syndrome under a physiotherapeutic view. The ideas got from this case study will provide better conditions for a higher quality of the treatment of people who suffer from the Oral Breather Syndrome.||A síndrome do respirador bucal é um conjunto de sinais e sintomas que podem estar presentes, completamente ou incompletamente, em indivíduos que, devido a motivos diversos, substituam o padrão correto de respiração nasal por um padrão de suplência bucal ou misto, os sinais e sintomas apresentam por esses indivíduos dependem de vários fatores e alteram de forma significativa a sua qualidade de vida. Em função das graves alterações que a respiração bucal pode produzir, o tratamento do respirador bucal torna-se extremamente importante e a participação da fisioterapia nesse processo é fundamental. Nesse trabalho, pretendemos abordar aspectos importantes para a fisioterapia sobre a Síndrome do Respirador Bucal, visando fornecer subsídios que possam contribuir para um melhor atendimento dessa síndrome por parte da fisioterapia, o que permitirá melhor qualidade no tratamento de indivíduos portadores da Síndrome do Respirador Bucal.
