O presente artigo objetivou a analisar a estética alencariana em Lucíola (1962), demarcando os aspectos literários referentes ao Romantismo e ao Realismo na construção da representação da mulher oitocentista a partir da dualidade entre a cortesã Lúcia e a angelical Maria da Glória (OLIVEIRA, 2014). Neste romance, entendemos que a construção da personagem Lucíola sintetiza toda a questão de uma sociedade que transforma amor, casamento e relações humanas em mercadoria: o assunto do romance, a prostituição, mostra-nos a degradação a que o dinheiro pode conduzir o ser humano. Baseamo-nos em estudos de: Lacan (1993, 1998); Leite (1979); Longo (2006); Moraes (2012); Pommier (1987); Proença (1966); Ribeiro (1996), entre outros.This article aims to analyze the alencarian aesthetics in Lucíola (1962), demarcating the literary aspects referring to Romanticism and Realism in the construction of the representation of nineteenth - century women from the duality between the courtesan Lúcia and the angelical Maria da Glória (OLIVEIRA, 2014). In this novel, we understand that the construction of the character Lucíola sums up the whole question of a society that transforms love, marriage and human relations into merchandise: the subject of romance, prostitution, shows us the degradation to which money can lead the human being. We are based on studies of: Lacan (1993, 1998); Leite (1979); Longo (2006); Moraes (2012); Pommier (1987); Proença (1966); Ribeiro (1996), among others.
