This text aims to discuss the "space" filled by anthropological researches related to urban issues concerning the Amazon region. Considering the diverse themes connected to anthropological researches in the region, we seek to draw an specific aspect of the history of anthropological researches in the Amazon: the studies that focus the urban social realities. It is highlighted the performance of anthropologists from outside the region and their contribution to the development of native anthropologists related to researches in urban context. || Este texto visa discutir o "lugar" ocupado pela produção de pesquisas antropológicas urbanas na Amazônia. Partindo da constatação da diversidade de temas de interesse das pesquisas antropológicas na região, busca-se aqui delinear um percurso específico da história das pesquisas antropológicas na Amazônia: os estudos que apresentam como foco as realidades sociais urbanas. É destacada também a atuação de antropólogos "de fora" da região e sua contribuição para a formação de antropólogos nativos que desenvolveram pesquisas no contexto urbano.
