RESUMO – O presente artigo tem como objetivo contribuir com as discussões acerca do trabalho profissional do assistente social, possibilitando reflexões sobre a interlocução teórica e prática. Atualmente, o assistente social encontra-se inserido em diversos espaços sócio-ocupacionais, entre eles a saúde mental. Iremos abordar de forma específica a atuação com adolescentes dependentes químicos em uma comunidade terapêutica. A reflexão aqui apresentada diz respeito à prática do assistente social e aà descrição de estratégias e intervenções utilizadas nessa realidade, na qual a atuação do profissional de serviço social é de grande importância e, ao mesmo tempo, desafiadora.Palavras-chave – Serviço Social. Comunidade Terapêutica.ABSTRACT – This article aims to contribute to the discussions about the professional work of the social worker, enabling reflections on the theoretical and practical dialogue. Currently, the social worker is inserted in several occupational social spaces, including mental health. We will specifically address the work with chemically dependent adolescents in a therapeutic community. The reflection presented here concerns the practice of social workers and the description of strategies and interventions used in this reality, in which the role of the social service professional is very important and, at the same time, challenging.Keywords – Social Work.
