Assuming that love is a central element in soap operas, this paper analyzes the emergence of a particular type of affective bond, namely addictive relationships, in the story of a specific Brazilianshow, viz. Mulheres Apaixonadas. The article starts by discussing the central features of addictive relationships according to Giddens’definition, i.e. those in which love becomes the object of addition. It then analyzes two romantic plots in the above mentioned soap opera: 1) the relationship between Heloísa and Sérgio; and 2) the relationship between Raquel, Marcos and Fred. Additionally, the paper explores some opinions expressed by viewers about these stories, thus highlighting the way they interact with the narrative.The analysis reveals the role played by these opinions in denouncing the risks of pathological relationships, besides showing how the interaction between soap operas and social life may promote changes in the meaning of love.Key words: soap opera, love, addictive relationships.||O objetivo deste artigo é analisar alguns relacionamentos viciados construídos em Mulheres Apaixonadas. Tendo em vista que o amor é um elemento central na constituição das telenovelas, busca-se apreender o modo como os vínculos amorosos em que o próprio relacionamento torna-se objeto de vício são edificados nesta narrativa. Para isso, o texto discute as características centrais desses relacionamentos. A partir desse referencial teórico, analisam-se duas tramas amorosas da novela em questão: entre Heloísa e Sérgio e entre Raquel, Marcos e Fred. Procura-se perceber a trajetória dessas personagens, os obstáculos enfrentados por elas, bem como o desfecho dos vínculos amorosos estabelecidos. Além disso, o texto se volta para posicionamentos dos telespectadores em relação a essas histórias em um fórum de discussão na internet, a fim de apreender interlocuções entre telenovela e público. A análise revela o papel de denúncia dessas representações, bem como alguns deslocamentos de sentidos sobre o amor que ocorrem na interação entre telenovela e vida social.Palavras-chave: telenovela, amor, relacionamentos viciados.
