This article discusses the situation of the homeless population in the current context of capitalist accumulation. Using secondary data from documents, bibliographic sources and information from research institutes, it examines the growth of this population in Brazil and its relationship with capitalism and its crises. The text also promotes an analysis in the light of the Marxist tradition, based on the notion of an industrial reserve army, highlighting its particularities in Latin America, especially in Brazil, a country of dependent capitalism. In addition, it discusses the various forms of violence and rights violations that affect this fraction of the working class.||Este artigo aborda a situação da população em situação de rua no contexto atual da acumulação capitalista. Utilizando dados secundários de documentos, fontes bibliográficas e informações de institutos de pesquisa, examina o crescimento dessa população no Brasil e sua relação com o capitalismo e suas crises. O texto também promove uma análise à luz da tradição marxista, com base na noção de exército industrial de reserva, destacando suas particularidades na América Latina, especialmente no Brasil, um país de capitalismo dependente. Além disso, discute as diversas formas de violência e violações de direitos que afetam essa fração da classe trabalhadora.
