Este artigo possui dois objetivos: (i) organizar parte do debate teórico sobre o tempo no interior da sociologia e (ii) levar adiante uma caracterização da teoria social que incorpore de maneira substantiva a discussão temporal através da noção de temporalização do espaço social. Tais objetivos serão perseguidos através da análise de como diferentes autores e teorias clássicas da sociologia trataram a temática do tempo, tentando apreender as formulações e os aspectos que nos auxiliam nesta análise. A empreitada que é levada adiante é um experimento de entrada no tema da modernidade através da sua temporalidade: como a modernidade e/ou as relações sociais modernas podem ser compreendidas através de sua ligação com o tempo, ou ainda como elas constroem uma temporalidade específica que permite a emergência de um tempo caracteristicamente moderno.Palavras-chave: sociologia do tempo, temporalização do espaço social, teoria sociológica.||This article has two objectives: (i) to organize the debate about time within sociology and (ii) to carry out a characterization of social theory that incorporates in a substantive way the temporal discussion through the notion of temporalization of the social space. These objectives will be pursued by analyzing how different authors and classical theories of sociology dealt with time, trying to grasp the formulations and the aspects that help us in this analysis. The project which is carried forward is an experiment in approaching the theme of modernity through its temporality: how modernity and/or modern social relations can be understood through their connection with time, or how they build a specific temporality that allows the emergence of a distinctively modern time.Keywords: sociology of time, temporalization of social space, sociological theory.
