The article is an attempt to approach the Amazon issue from a perspective that goes beyond analytical binary white/non-white; European/non-European; development/sustainability; city /countryside; domination/resistance and others. However, based on some criticisms of the reflections of the Socioeconomic and Cultural Formation of the Amazon, that put the being in the region in the background. It is chosen the Gadamerian hermeneutic perspective and Heidegger's essay “The Origin of the Work of Art” (2012) to analyze the canvas “The Conquest of the Amazon” (ACA). Starting from a decolonial analysis of the screen through the concept of “new dualism” and “race” is problematized to transcend it and reposition ontologically the being at the center of the analysis. It´s concluded, therefore, that it is necessary to subvert the order of discussions and reflections, that is, not to ask why the Amazon and its population are dominated and exploited, but rather who’s the being of the Amazon.||O artigo é uma tentativa de abordar a questão da Amazônia sob uma perspectiva que vai além dos binarismos analíticos branco/ não branco, europeu/ não europeu, desenvolvimento/sustentabilidade; cidade/campo, dominação/resistência, entre outros, construída a partir de uma crítica às reflexões da Formação Socioeconômica e Cultural da Amazônia, que coloca em segundo plano o ser na Amazônia. Opta-se pela perspectiva hermenêutica gadameriana e do ensaio “A origem da obra de Arte” de Heidegger (2012) para analisar a tela “A Conquista do Amazonas” (ACA). Parte-se da análise decolonial da tela, por meio do conceito “novo dualismo”, em que se problematiza a “raça” no intuito de transcendê-la e ontologicamente recolocar o ser no centro da análise. Conclui-se que é necessário subverter a ordem das discussões e reflexões, ou seja, não indagar por que a Amazônia e sua população são dominadas e exploradas, mas sim quem é o ser da Amazônia.
