This essay tries to study the"Dream's Gates" metaphor, extremely important in classical Antiquity. The"theory" which states that the dreams either go through the horn gate (and become true) or the ivory gate (and are fakes), was formulated for the first time in Chant XIX of the Odyssey, and has the apparent aleatority of its metaphores solved by a quibble present in the ancient greek original. This brings us to ponder about the Witz and the relations between Language and Myth. Such topos will turn up again in Virgil's Aeneid, Chant VI, the"Descent to Hell" - the place where the past is reencountered and the future is engendered. It is interesting to note that in these two epopees, which have the voyage as their central motif (respectively of Odysseus and Aeneas), another quality of the voyage turns up, that to the underworld: is this a suggestion of a passage from the epic to the psychological? || Este ensaio trata da metáfora das"Portas do Sonhos", extremamente importante na Antiguidade clássica. A"teoria" segundo a qual os sonhos passam ou pela porta de chifre (e se realizam) ou pela de marfim (e são falsos) foi e tem a aparente aleatoriedade de suas metáforas"resolvida" por um trocadilho que se estabelece no grego. Isso postula uma reflexão sobre o Witz e sobre as relações entre Linguagem e Mito. Tal topos repontará na Eneida de Virgílio, no Canto VI, a"Descida aos Infernos" - lugar onde se reencontra o passado e se gesta o futuro. É significativo que nas duas epopéias que fazem da viagem seu motivo central (respectivamente, de Ulisses e de Enéias), aponte-se para a existência dessa outra qualidade de viagem, que é aquela rumo ao mundo das profundezas: insinuação de uma passagem do épico ao psicológico?
