This study intends to take advantage of scripts and learning gained in teacher training courses, when teaching the History and Culture-Afro-Brazilian Discipline. At the same time, it seeks to point out the need to add to this discipline the recent historiographic innovations that contributed to resize the perception of Brazilian social formation, in the face of capitalist development and insertion in a globalized world, especially between the 16th and 19th centuries. It is from this historical framework that we believe it is possible to articulate the anti-racist discourse, as a necessary condition for the re-education of ethnic-racial relations in the Brazilian case. We argue that the theoretical construct to be formulated must rely on the knowledge of past times in the conditions exposed above, tuning to this, the discussions that pass through the theoretical waves of Brazilian racial thought. ||Esse estudo intenta aproveitar de roteiros e aprendizagens auferidos em cursos de formação de professores, ao ministrar a Disciplina História e Cultura-Afro Brasileira. Ao mesmo tempo procura apontar a necessidade de agregar a essa disciplina as recentes inovações historiográficas que contribuíram para redimensionar a percepção da formação social brasileira, face ao desenvolvimento capitalista e à inserção em um mundo globalizado, sobretudo entre os séculos XVI e XIX. É a partir desse referencial histórico que julgamos possível articular o discurso antirracista, enquanto condição necessária à re-educação das relações étnico-raciais no caso brasileiro. Defendemos que o constructo teórico a ser formulado deve contar com o conhecimento dos tempos pretéritos nas condições acima expostas, afinando a esse, as discussões que transitam pelas ondas teóricas do pensamento racial brasileiro.
