RESUMO
O artigo está estruturado em três temáticas, os motoristas de caminhão e sua inserção no Transporte Rodoviário de Cargas Brasileiro em seus aspectos econômicos e do trabalho; o Sindicato dos motoristas rodoviários empregados, sediado no município de Uruguaiana, no estado do Rio Grande do Sul, através da sua estruturação e representatividade e; o Sindicato através de suas Convenções Coletivas de Trabalho, entre 2001-2019, no segmento do Transporte Rodoviário Internacional de Cargas, com ênfase na identificação das categorias internas a esses motoristas e a sua formação salarial. Tendo como referencial Legislação da atividade econômica, bibliografia sobre os motoristas de caminhão brasileiros e o moderno recurso de pesquisa em documentação através de Portal da Internet do Sindicato, o artigo acrescenta à historiografia sobre os trabalhadores questões genéricas e peculiares da formação profissional dos motoristas de caminhão.

ABSTRACT
The article is structured around three themes, truck drivers and their insertion in the Brazilian Road Cargo Transport in its economic and work aspects; the Union of Employed Road Drivers, headquartered in the municipality of Uruguaiana, in the state of Rio Grande do Sul, through its structuring and representation the; Union through its Collective Labor Conventions, between 2001-2019, in the International Road Cargo Transport segment, with an emphasis on identifying the internal categories of these drivers and their salary formation. Based on the Legislation of economic activity, bibliography on brazilian truck drivers and the modern resource for research in documentation through the Union's Internet Portal, the article adds to the historiography of workers generic and peculiar issues of professional training for truck drivers.
