This paper proposes a critical reflection on the experience of the youth condition and the school citizenship by means of three major axes concerning citizenship. First, it addresses the citizenship issue from the rights and the effective social insertion forms that the have adolescents in the society. Second, the citizenship theme is approached from the effective skills that the youth have in order to be actors in the society and to generate transformations in it. Lastly, based on a more normative perspective, considerations on the possible exercise and formation of the adolescent citizenship in the school are discussed.||El artículo propone una reflexión crítica sobre la experiencia adolescente y la ciudadanía escolar a través de tres grandes ejes del tema de la ciudadanía. En primer lugar, se aborda la cuestión ciudadana desde los derechos y las formas sociales efectivas de inserción que en la sociedad poseen los adolescentes. En segundo lugar, el tema de la ciudadanía es abordado desde las capacidades efectivas que tienen los adolescentes a la hora de ser actores de la sociedad y suscitar transformaciones en ella. Por último, y desde una perspectiva más normativa, se abordan consideraciones sobre el posible ejercicio y formación de la ciudadanía adolescente en la escuela.
